WSUS Replica-Server

Topics: Configuration Issue

I have an WSUS Server (Win 2008R2) with WPP. Now we want to add an Downstream-Server for our new sub-company in China. (also 2008R2)

The Replica-Server works fine, and all Certs are installed correctly, but if I connect with the WPP-Console (installed on the Main-Server) to the Replica-Server the paths of the packages are pointing to the Main-Server.

Does this mean that clients which pick their updates from the Replica-Server will get their WPP-Packages from the Main-Server?

Hi StrD,
If you are speaking of the 'Folder' field which generally start by 'http ://WsusServerName/Content' or 'https ://WsusServerName/Content', you need to know that this field display the recorded path where Windows Update Clients will have to download the update file.
If this field point to your upstream server, that mean that clients will download udpates files from the upstream server.

Do you have setup the downstream server to store updates locally ?

Yes I am speaking of the "Folder" field.

The downstream server is configured to store updates locally and the function "download only when approved" is set to active. How do I have to configure the server for downloading the WPP-packages from downstream server?

Thanks for your help!

Try to approve the update (in a test group) to see if the downstream server download the file and therefore change the download path.

I already tried this.

The server has downloaded the file, but the path didn't change. Is there a way to change the path manually?

May be by editing the SQL database, but I didn't recommend this.
