Topics: Configuration Issue
Feb 3, 2014 at 2:52 PM
After starting WSUS Packet Publisher and connecting to Server got the message that console Version and Server Version does not match.

Lokking at the Server Version is 3.0 SP2 build 3.2.7600.226 running on W2008R2.
Looking at the Client Version is 3.0 SP2 build 3.2.7600.226 running on W7Pro SP1

Does anyone have a idea?

Tahnks a lot.

Where did you get the version number ?
If you run WPP, connect to the Wsus server, go to 'Help' -> 'About', which version number do you read ?

I got the Version numbers from "ControlPanel/Programs and Functions" on each machine (Server / Client).

When i open the WPP App and went to Help->About there i see those Versions:
WPP Release: 1.3.1401.4
Server Version: 3.2.7600.262
Console Version: 3.2.7600.256

Hi, You can not rely on 'Programs and Functions', because MMC version shown here are base version (aka 3.2.7600.226). If you click on 'Show Installed Updates' you will see what is the latest patch installed and so the real version.
WPP give you the correct version of Wsus and Console. install KB2828185 on computers where Wsus console is installed.

thank you so much for your assistance.

Just for a moment before your reply i had a look to the installed updates and i installed 2828185 on my Windows 7 Client and everything works fine. The trick for me was to recognize that i have to look in WPP help/about and to see which Versions are used.

Thank you.

have a look in http://wsus.de/faq No. 44. There you will find a List with WSUS-Version Numbers and all needed Updates.
And you will find a Image where you can find the Versionnumbers on you WSUS or W7 Client.
