[Solved] Adobe FlashPlayer 12.0.0.77 out of the catalog doesn't install - HELP!

Topics: Publishing Issue
Mar 14, 2014 at 2:55 PM
Hello,

I got following problem. I published the new Flashplayer Update out of the catalog within WPP, I approved it for every Computer in our Environment. The Status tells me that it needs to be installed but isn't. So far so Good.

But now my Problem.. None of my PCs show up the new Update (Got it published since wednesday and today is Friday so I think enough time to show up)

If I make a "wuauclt /detectnow" on my pc It doesn't get any update! No Failures are showed.

Never had problems with the Updates out of the Adobe Flash Player catalog so I'm kinda confused now.

Maybe someone can help me.
Thanks
Susie

Hi Susie,
first ensure the update is really approve in this computer group and the status is "not installed".
Then look at C:\Windows\WindowsUpdate.log to see if any error show up.

What type of file do you have publish EXE or MSI ? Do you have customized 'IsInstalled' rules and/or 'IsInstalleble' rules ?

I'm experiencing the same issue. The Plugin package seems to install fine, but the ActiveX package fails consistently.

The update package is imported straight from the Adobe Flash Player catalogue. The update cab contains a solitary msi.

I've not changed the update package in any way other than to approve for installation for our WSUS pilot group.

Cheers

Edit
C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\InstallAX_12_0_0_77.exe is created during the update installation process, but vanishes when the update fails so I don't believe it's a permissions issue.

This is an installation problem. Try to run the MSI file locally on the computer and see if you have more informations on why it fail.

Hi and sorry for the late reply (I was sick at home)

Today I got my first day at work again and looked into WPP and Flash is installed on every Computer... I don't know what was wrong!

SOLVED here! Reason: I don't know... maybe a green midget
