Topics: Publishing Issue

Hi Guys,
i installed the newst version of WPP on a Windows Server 2008R2 + WSUS 3.0 SP2.

For a test run i decided for adobe reader xi. I created successfully a package. I approved it to a computer group. The windows update services from a server found the package "adobe reader xi" and installed it without problems. A few seconds later the windows update show me the same package for installation again.

I take a look in system control -> programs and functions and i see the adobe reader xi entry.
Can someone explain what am I doing wrong?

Hi badwurzach,
A few seconds later the windows update show me the same package for installation again.
That mean that the package is not detect as "Installed" and detect as "Installable".
  • First, what type of file do you have publish : EXE, MSI or MSP ?
  • Second, what do you have set as "IsInstalled" rule and "IsInstallable" rule ?

Hi DCourtel,
Thank you for your reply.
-> i used the setup.exe from the archive.
-> i used the PDF file that i found under documentation (https://www.codeplex.com/Download?ProjectName=WsusPackagePublisher&DownloadId=684132). I added nö more rules.

Daniel

When you have downloaded the EXE file, which langage do you have choose ?
Can you revise the update and take a screenshot of the rule you have set (IsInstalled = Step 15 in the procedure and IsInstallable = Step 17 in the procedure) ?
You don't have to finish the revising, take the screenshot and press 'Cancel'

Thanks.

As shown on your pictures, you have used the 'Upgrade Code" instead of the "Product Code" at step 11.

Please revise your update to change this code, both in the "IsInstalled" rule and "IsInstallable" rule.

Can i anywhere mark this thread as solved?
Not in the Discussion Tab. Or may be by editing the Title and adding [Solved] at the starting.
